Like many people, Paul Asikainen was drawn to Napa Valley for two reasons: the wine and the weather. After growing up in the Midwest and attending college at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, Paul was eager to leave behind the snow and ice when he transplanted himself here over a decade ago. Paul’s background includes a diverse range of management positions in the hospitality industry, from the award winning Martini House Restaurant in St. Helena, California to the Hallbrook Country Club in Leawood, Kansas. His sophisticated knowledge of wine and food, combined with his Midwestern warmth and gregarious personality, make him the quintessential winery host.
Paul is most proud of his leadership in bringing the AVA Room & Barrel Blending Experience to life. It has quickly become the cornerstone of a Conn Creek Winery visit, and one of the most memorable experiences offered in Napa Valley.
