2005 Collins Vineyard, St. Helena AVA Cabernet Sauvignon
“Densely concentrated aromas of plums, black cherries, oak bark and cinnamon toast are nicely displayed in an elegant oak framework. Supple, black fruit flavors crest to blackberries, then ebb to a rich lingering finish. Enjoyable now, will age best over the next 4 -6 years.” – Mike McGrath, Winemaker
MORE ABOUT THIS WINE

- Blend: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon
- Vineyards: Bill and Kathleen Collins, the founders of Conn Creek Winery, farm this vineyard on the valley floor in the St. Helena AVA to the south of Calistoga. This block-selected Cabernet Sauvignon is emblematic of a microclimate that produces ripe and jam-flavored wines with distinctive fine tannins. Because of its valley location, locked between the hills, this AVA tends to be very warm with minimal fog intrusion. The soils are primarily sedimentary and gravelly clay loam with medium to low water retention.
