2004 Collins Family Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
Vineyard Source: Bill and Kathleen Collins, the original founders of Conn Creek Winery, farm this vineyard on the valley floor in the St. Helena AVA to the south of Calistoga. This block-selected Cabernet Sauvignon is emblematic of a microclimate that produces ripe and jammy-flavored wines with distinctive fine tannins. Because of its valley location, locked between hills, this AVA tends to be very warm with minimal fog intrusion. The soils are primarily sedimentary and gravelly clay loam with medium to low water retention.

Characteristics: Aromas of marionberry jam, blackberries plus vanilla with cedar notes. Well integrated black fruit flavors with structured tannins. Enjoyable now, will age best over the next 8 years.

2004 Rutherford Estate Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
Vineyard Source: Conn Creek’s Rutherford Estate Vineyard surrounds the winery on three acres first planted in 1980 and replanted in 2001. Cortina gravelly loam soil, found in only 0.2% of the Napa Valley, is specific to the vineyard. Warmer on average than both Oakville and Stags Leap District, Rutherford AVA produces wines with jammy, ripe berry aromas and flavors complemented by a supple mouthfeel and layers of complexity.
Barrel Aging- 28 months in French Oak
Characteristics: Abundant aromas of cassis and vanilla. Rounded flavors of black cherries and chocolate. Soft grainy tannins frame a long finish that will reward 4-5 years of aging. Best paired with buffalo steak or ostrich.

2004 Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon
Vineyard Source: The vineyard is located on the Silverado Trail in the East foothills of the Southern part of the Stags Leap district. Soils are volcanic gravel-loam with hard clay bedrock underneath. Though moderately warm with afternoon marine winds acting as a natural “air conditioner,” Stags Leap is often up to 10 degrees warmer than neighboring Yountville. Wines are typically distinguished by perfumed cherry aromas and red berry flavors, supported by soft tannins and a velvety texture.

Characteristics: Plum and red berry fruit with integrated oak spice. Flavors of blackberries and vanilla. An elegantly styled wine with lingering fruit and integrated, soft tannins. Best served with duck breast or pork sirloin.

2004 Hozhoni Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
Vineyard Source: Hozhoni Vineyard is located on the eastern side of the Silverado Trail in the Rutherford benchland. The soils are of volcanic origin. The word “Hozhoni” means “peaceful resting place” in the Navajo language. The vineyard is owned by John and Lois Mueller.
Barrel Aging- 28 months in French Oak
Characteristics: Aromas of dried cranberries, currants and cedar. Flavors of cassis and nutmeg. Medium bodied with fine grain tannins and an elegant finish, Enjoyable in the near term, complexity will be enhanced with additional aging.

2004 Volker Eisele Family Estate Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
Vineyard Source: Owned and operated by the Eisele family for over three decades, this organically-farmed vineyard is located in central Chiles Valley AVA in the northeastern part of Napa Valley. This Cabernet Sauvignon is produced in a microclimate known for colder winter and spring seasons which lead to generally later harvests than on the valley floor, and for soils that are marine-based in origin. Chiles Valley Cabernets stand apart for their succulent blackberry flavors. These lush fruit notes balance the firmness of the tannins and taut acidity.

Characteristics: Aromas of cedar, sage and cocoa, with flavors of dark chocolate and vanilla. Medium-bodied with integrated tannins and a welcoming bright finish. This wine is ready to enjoy, yet also possesses great potential to evolve and develop over time.
