Conn Creek's 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon from Atlas Peak's Stagecoach Vineyard has been ranked #27 on Wine Enthusiast's list of "Top 100 American Wines," available now on the magazine's website.
Originally rated 96 points and selected as an "Editor's Choice" wine by the magazine, the 2007 Stagecoach Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is "a tremendous accomplishment" and "an outstanding value," according to reviewer Steve Heimoff.
Founded in 1973 on Napa Valley’s famed Silverado Trail, Conn Creek has built its reputation on blending expertise. The winery’s sourcing program, which includes grapes from 14 of Napa Valley’s 15 diverse sub-appellations, provides winemaker Mike McGrath with an unparalleled palette from which to blend each wine and vintage.
The 2007 Stagecoach Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is part of Conn Creek’s AVA Series of four single appellation Cabernet bottling released in limited quantities each vintage. These wines demonstrate the distinct characteristics of their sites, and are available at Conn Creek’s tasting room, through the winery’s online store, and in select markets.
Conn Creek’s commitment to showcasing the “best of the Napa Valley” extends to the winery’ unique AVA Room Barrel Blending Experience. During the guided, two-hour seminar, visitors to the winery take a tasting tour of the Napa Valley, tasting barrel samples of Cabernet Sauvignon from 14 sub-appellations organized by Mike McGrath according to flavor and richness. Participants also taste other Bordeaux blending varietals before creating a bottle of their own blend to take home. Named the international winner of the “Innovative Wine Tourism Experience” award at the 2011 Best of Wine Tourism Awards, the AVA Room is open by appointment and has become a “must-do” activity for visitors to the Napa Valley.
